Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility He endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.

One of many great qualities I like and appreciate about my relationship with my brother-in-law's is how easily we dive into deep conversations about our roles in the world as men of God. We usually walk away from every conversation with someone offering a nugget of wisdom that gives the others something to chew on long after the conversation is over. One day while riding around with Adam, he said something I’ll never forget. “You know, Glenn, people put periods a lot on their stories in life.” In the days that followed I began to think of the many times I applied a period to my own stories. I admit, at the time I thought it was the end of the story. Truth is, God was simply starting a new chapter.
Scripture tells us in Philippians 1:6 that no ones life is complete until we meet Jesus face to face. To this day, when things of the world began to entangle me and I find myself ready to put a period on a situation, Adam's wisdom spoken that day along with the scripture verse helps untangle me. I no longer put periods where periods don’t belong. I believe God gave me that profound conversation so I would be able to enjoy more of my journey in life trusting the author and perfector of our faith - Jesus.
