Hand Crafted Frames
Each of the custom wood frames I use for my original artwork is carefully handcrafted from start to finish by my own hands. The frames that I make are for my original artwork and are known as floating frames. The artwork sits within the frame with a 1/4" gap between the artwork and the frame giving it an appearance of floating. Great care is taken with each frame in order that it is constructed to the highest standard. These are frames that are made to last, right down to the hand sanding and spray painting for a flawless finish. I use one of two varieties of wood for the finish - a poplar wood with a satin white finish for the external and internal sides of the frame or a natural rustic wood that I find in the local waters. Both compliments the artwork beautifully.
The canvas I use has a 1.5" depth and is able to hang without a frame. I do paint the sides.
